OBJECTIVES

• To ensure the general welfare of the Besant Nagar residents.
• To promote and foster friendship and brotherhood among various sections of society.
• To uphold the values of human rights and fundamental rights as guaranteed in our Constitution.
• To do such other acts of interest to the well-being of the residents of Besant Nagar.
• To assist Member Associations to extend medical assistance to the needy.
• To take up matters of common and overall interest of all the Residents with statutory bodies of Government, Corporation and other Departmental agencies like TNEB, Metro Water, PWD etc., for necessary action.
• To help to form new Residents’ Welfare Association which are not existing or to rejuvenate inactive Associations.
• To create more civic amenities catering to the needs of the residents, thereby contributing to the concept of “Singara Chennai”.
• To take up all macro level civic issues  with authorities for redressal.
• To ensure better co-ordination among constituents of the Federation for Social, Cultural and Economic well-being.
• To make all possible efforts to achieve general amenities, consumer protection such as setting up a Consumer Store, interaction with traders on quality and quantity of goods, over charging etc. monitoring of the public distribution system including supply of essential and consumable items.
• To strive for environmental protection such as steps to curb pollution, ensure cleanliness, plantation of trees, interaction with authorities on any environmental aspect, and to promote kitchen gardens.
•  To undertake all such other lawful acts, deeds or things including Sports, games and Cultural activities as are incidental or conducive to the attainment of any or all of the above objects including the general welfare of the residents.
• To set targets in the areas stated in the objects and conduct monthly reviews to assess the achievements of targets to be called the Annual Action Plan of the Federation.
• To pursue the general interests of the residents by all legal means.
